I don't know anything about Madoka, but I this this a really pretty pic of her!

I like her expression quite a bit. I like the look in her eye, and her little smile. They both have this eager, happiness to them, but there's also this kinda subdued, calm, almost melancholy hint to her expression, too. Maybe melancholy is the wrong word; there's this vulnerability to her that just barely peeks through the cute and lighthearted pose and smirk and everything. And I find that to be pretty interesting -- that contrast in the mood makes me curious about her and her personality. I think that, in a smaller, more subtle way, she and the background reflect that contrast. Her pose, her outfit, most everything about her has this lighthearted, whimsical energy to her, and the background has flatter, slightly darker, "quieter" colors and solid shapes and lines -- the background has this quieter feel in contrast to her cutesy, frilly energy. It might be a small thing, but it creates and interesting mood and atmosphere. Plus! It's gives the pic this kinda elegant, classy look.

But all of that pontificating aside, she looks suuuuper cute. I love her pose, the way she's got her arms spread out and her legs bent like that. There's a lightness to her pose; it feels like she's gently floating around in this whimsical, dreamy way. And I like how her big, frilly skirt kinda communicates that feel that she's floating! I love that dreamlike sense of motion in her pose.

I like the linework, the shapes you've used to draw her figure. That's something I find really appealing in your art;  there's this looseness or fluidity to the lines and shapes and forms that makes your characters feel animated and alive. There's this active, lively quality that's so awesome to see. For example, the shapes and curves of her legs, her arms, or how her shoulder and sleeve kinda jut out, or the curves of her back -- they all guide your eyes around in this active way that's really interesting and makes it seem like she's got this breath of life, this sense of motion to her.

Love the way you handle colors, too.  They're bright, and they work together really well. I like the shadow-y parts -- they give the pic some depth, but they fit fit really well with the bright colors of everything.

Anyway. I'm rambling. But I think this is a great illustration. :+fav:
